As consumer demand for fast always on internet and access to services like streaming video and audio, voice and video calling as well as online gaming and web browsing, hotels have had to adapt quickly to ensure that their in-room internet offerings match what the consumer is used to at home. iBAHN were one of the first companies to offer tiered high speed internet access to the hotel industry.
The Brief
On completion of the ETVi HD upgrade for iBAHN, it quickly became apparent that their High Speed Internet Access product was also in need of an upgrade to work across multiple devices and resolutions, including HD TV, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Typically these apps are not very appealing to the eye, or customisable by the hotel chain, both in terms of what services they can offer, and tailoring the UI to the need and branding of the hotel. The UI had to be fully customisable and able to grow and shrink depending on the internet services on offer.
The Response
Moriarti created a set of user journeys, highly detailed wireframes and prototypes. Working with the iBAHN product and development teams, the prototypes were further refined until all the anticipated use cases requirements were captured. Moriarti also produced final CSS stylesheets and a suite of bespoke icons for use in the application front end.
